Van Gogh Museum - Amsterdam

The Van Gogh Meseum  is an art museum in Amsterdam, featuring the works of the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries. It has the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world. A visit to the Van Gogh Museum is a unique experience. The museum Van Gogh, contain the largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Ggh in the world. It provides the opportunity to keep track of the artist's development, or compare his paintings to works by other artist from the 19th century in the collection.
The main exhibition chronicles the various phases of Van Gogh's artistic life. The permanent collection includes The Potato Eaters, Bedroom in Arles, The Yellow House, Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers, nine of the artist's Self-Portraits, and some of his earliest paintings dating back to 1882.
Travelling by public transport
From Central Station in Amsterdam, take tram 2 (towards Nieuw Sloten) or 5 (towards Amstelveen Binnenhof) to the Van Baerlestraat stop.


From Station Amsterdam Zuid/WTC, take tram 5 (towards Central Station) to the Van Baerlestraat stop. You can also take tram 3 or 12 to the Van Baerlestraat stop, and trams 16 and 24 or bus 145, 170 or 172 to the Museumplein stop.
Travelling by car
From the A10 motorway, take exit S108, and then turn right onto Amstelveenweg. At Stadionplein, bear right, and turn left at the traffic lights. At the roundabout next to Haarlemmermeerstation, lake the second right, into Cornelis Krusemanstraat. Continue down this street, which becomes the Lairessestraat, until you reach Museumplein, where the Van Gogh Museum is located.

The Van Gogh Museum is on Museumplein in Amsterdam, between the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum. The museum entrance is at Paulus Potterstraat 7 (see the map below for exact location).
